For 2025, both the Kia K5 car and the Carnival minivan are getting new looks. We can show you pictures and tell you more about what’s coming up for both in 2025.
Two of Kia’s most famous cars, the Carnival minivan and the K5 sedan (formerly the Optima), got pictures of their 2025 versions today. Both are mid-cycle updates that make each model look more unique and up-to-date. First, let’s look at the K5.
What changes will there be to the 2025 Kia K5?
It’s great that Kia is sticking with cars even though most automakers are getting rid of them. After four years, the fifth-generation K5 got its first update. This time, the fascia gets new headlights and a front bumper cover with big air vents.
The S-shaped parking lights that look like lightning bolts are not what you’d expect. Along with the new front end, the back will also get new, bigger taillights and exhaust tips. The outside has also changed with new alloy wheels and a blackout finish that adds more black brightwork.
The K5 changes things inside. Now it has two screens that curve around each other and a head-up display. A new rotating dial lets you change gears as well. There is also a fingerprint reader on the middle console. There will be both ICE and hybrid models.
What’s different about the 2025 Kia Carnival?
A new grille is the start of the Carnival. New headlights and LED elements that go from the side markers to the grille are part of this. The screen has a unique texture that looks like it’s lock-together. The new geometric wheels give it a modern, industrial look.
Kia is adding a new style that it calls Gravity. The black paint covers most of the trim and window frames, including the wheels. Kia hasn’t released any interior photos yet, but based on the K5’s refresh, we expect the cabin to get similar updates. We’ll let you know more about this as Kia shares more information about the Carnival.
In what ways do the Carnival and K5 work?
Each of the K5 and Carnival will have the same engine. In this case, the Carnival will have a 3.5-liter V6 engine and an eight-speed gear. It also comes with a 1.6-liter hybrid turbo engine that works like the Sorento’s.
There are many kinds of power for the K5. With 160 hp from a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine, 180 hp from a 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, 146 hp from a 2.0-liter engine with Liquid Propane Injection (LPI), and 152 hp from an electric motor, there are five different engine types.
These two new Kias are already on the market in South Korea. We’ll be getting ours for the 2025 model year. Kia is still having a great time, and the updates to these two cars look like they will continue that trend.
